Privacy Policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It describes what we collect on animanovalabs.com (the "Site") and through the Cal.com booking page linked from it, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. The Site and the AnimaNova Labs services are operated by AnimaNova Ventures LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, which is the data controller for the personal data described here.
If anything below is unclear, email hi@animanovalabs.com.
What we collect
- Booking details when you schedule a call through Cal.com: your name, email, time zone, and the answers you give to the booking questions (for example, your situation and what you want built). We use them to prepare for and run the call.
- Correspondence when you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to share. We use it to respond and, if we work together, to assess fit and prepare the engagement.
- Engagement details you choose to share when discussing an engagement (your company or fund, the product or workflows you want to build or change, your current systems and AI use, your team and timeline). We use them solely to assess fit and scope the work.
- Analytics data through PostHog: the pages you view and when you leave them, how long a page was open and how far you scrolled, the referring page, approximate location (country and city level, derived from your IP address), and device, browser, operating system, and screen size. These events are linked to a random identifier stored in your browser, so visits from the same browser can be connected. We do not record sessions, clicks, or keystrokes. We use this data to understand what content works and to improve the Site.
- Request data when your browser loads the Site: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, receives your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user agent in order to deliver the page and protect the Site, and we keep short-lived request logs to find errors and abuse.
What we do not collect
The Site has no account signup, newsletter signup, contact form, checkout, or file upload. We do not collect credentials, production data, source code, or your customers' personal data through this Site. Materials needed during an engagement are exchanged only after an NDA and a statement of work (SOW) are signed, through channels agreed there, never through the Site.
During an engagement, the work happens in accounts you own: your administrators grant named access, and remove it when the work ends. Data inside those accounts stays under your control, and how we may handle it is set in the NDA and the SOW, not in this policy. This policy covers only the Site.
Why we process it (legal bases)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: consent where required (withdrawable at any time); contract when we process booking, correspondence, or engagement details to deliver what you asked for; and legitimate interests for analytics, Site security, preventing abuse, and establishing or defending legal claims.
Who processes it for us
We use a small set of service providers acting on our behalf:
- Cal.com — call scheduling and booking answers
- PostHog — Site analytics (hosted in the United States)
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and request logs
- Our email provider
Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its function. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses a cookie and browser storage (local storage) for analytics through PostHog. They hold a random identifier for your browser and details of your current visit (such as the page that referred you), not your name. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or clear cookies and browser storage in your browser at any time; the Site works without them.
International transfers
We serve a global audience, and our providers listed above are primarily based in the United States. Where personal data of EU, UK, or Swiss residents is transferred internationally, we rely on our processors' safeguards, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Data retention
We keep booking data and correspondence for as long as needed to provide what you requested, plus a reasonable period afterward. Engagement records are kept as required by law, tax rules, and our contractual obligations. Analytics data is retained per our analytics provider's standard retention settings. Our request logs are kept for up to seven days. You can request deletion at any time (see below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. To exercise any of these, email hi@animanovalabs.com from the address in question. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and the rights above (access, deletion, correction) apply to you. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising them.
Children
The Site and our services are for business use and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes
We may update this policy as the Site and our tooling evolve. The date above reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
